Happy April, Studio K Fam! We’ve had a busy few months between regular weekly classes and fun, themed workshops (Barbie class no. 2, anyone??) and maybe it’s just us, but we’re having a hard time believing that we’re almost a quarter of the way through 2025…didn’t the year just start like, last week?
In any case, we’re back with another Studio K Spotlight - this time, I'm chatting with Taylor Taft – an aspiring performer recently relocated from Utah, to pursue her dreams of dancing professionally!
Read all about Taylor’s experience and see firsthand what makes Studio K stand out above the rest. When it comes to adult dance classes near Orlando, Studio K is the place to be. Visit our class schedule to see what we offer - we can’t wait to see you under our disco ball!

The Early Years: Taylor Finds a Love of Dance
HZ: How and when did you start dancing? What do you love most about movement?
TT: I officially started dancing at ten years old. My best friend at the time convinced me to take a Hip Hop class with her, and from then on, my passion for dance has grown more every day. I remember the very first time I stepped off the stage I had never felt such a high. I truly am happiest when I'm dancing. My favorite thing about movement is how it can describe emotions, memories, and connections unlike anything else. It breaks all language barriers and is an art form that anybody can participate in! How cool?
The Unique Studio K Experience
HZ: How long have you been a Studio K member?
TT: I became a Studio K member in November of 2024. Studio K was the first dance studio I attended after moving to Florida, and there wasn't a question in my mind about whether I should return frequently. I bought an Annual Membership later that week.:)
HZ: Why did you choose Studio K as your preferred dance/fitness class studio?
TT: Studio K is the perfect example of a safe space. Everybody is so encouraging, accepting, and friendly. People are there to have fun, to improve, make friends, and truly enjoy the art form. I also love how affordable the classes are. It is so accessible for anybody wanting to keep up with their dancing abilities or looking to start a new hobby! Studio K is seriously the best, and I love bringing friends to class who are looking into trying something new or just wanting to have a fun night dancing together.
HZ: What are your favorite classes to take?
TT: My favorite classes are the Friday Night Workshops! The choreographers always pull out some of their best work, the classes are always exciting, and I love how they are a little longer. That way, we can learn a more extended dance, practice formation changes, or settle into the choreography. People also always dress up with the theme which I think is so precious!

Life Beyond the Studio: A Day as Taylor
HZ: When you're not here taking classes, what are you up to? What do you do for work?
TT: If I'm not taking dance classes, I'm either at the parks or working! I have a few jobs, so I'll talk about the two that take up the most time. I help run social media and marketing for a Utah-based Non-profit called International Language Programs (ILP). I taught kids English in India and Costa Rica this last year through this company, and after, I was hired to help with the content, web design, and marketing. I love it!
I also work at Central Florida Balloon Decor. With this company, I make balloon art daily, from balloon arches and columns to Valentine's Day-themed bouquets. Every day is different, and it's been so much fun!
HZ: What do you think makes Studio K different from other dance studios?
TT: Studio K is the perfect place for people nervous about attending an adult dance class. It is the most joyous environment with a wide range of experienced dancers. It ranges from first-timers to people who currently dance at the parks. No matter where you are on the spectrum, you will leave class feeling accomplished and with a good workout!
Final Thoughts!
HZ: What advice do you have for people who want to try dance/fitness classes, but might be hesitant or nervous?
TT: Don't let your fears hold you back from trying new things! Everybody in these dance classes was once in your shoes and was nervous about trying something new. These classes might be exactly what you need or are looking for, so give it a chance and see for yourself why Studio K is the best!

HZ: Anything else you'd like to add or expand on?
TT: I'm originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, and moved here in October to chase my dream of becoming a dancer in entertainment. I graduated in 2023 from Utah Tech University with a BA in Dance and a Minor in Media Studies.
Studio K has brought me so many friendships, which I'm so thankful for, especially after moving across the country by myself. After I chase my dreams of becoming a performer for the parks or a cruise line, I hope to eventually be able to share my love of dance with future students. I plan on becoming a teacher for dance studios and a coach for High School Dance Teams. I love the community dance has brought to me, and I can't wait to cultivate spaces for future dancers to have a safe space where they feel like they belong:)
